Karnataka Ganga Kalyana Scheme benefits

• Provides irrigation facilities to small and marginal farmers belonging to minority communities in Karnataka.

• Farmers can get a subsidy of Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs. 3 lakh for drilling borewells or digging open wells and installing pump sets and accessories.

• The subsidy is higher for farmers in Bangalore urban, Bengaluru rural, Ramanagara, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, and Tumkur districts.

• If perennial water sources are not available, the corporation will provide loans to individuals for the construction of borewells on water points. The corporation will pay Rs. 1.5 lakh for the drilling and installation of a borewell.

• The scheme also provides for the installation of pipelines from nearby rivers to the lands of farmers.The cost of this service per acre is Rs. 4 lakh for up to 8 acres, and Rs. 6 lakh for 15 acres or more.
